Compare the bill. Then compare the booth.

A monthly headline can hide an annual commitment. A low entry price can leave out the one feature you need. Start with the price, then follow a guest’s photo all the way from capture to delivery.

The price and feature table

Here are five plans from four photo booth apps on the same page. Creator and Pro have separate columns so you can compare their prices and included features. The named plans are entry points, not identical packages. Prices below are published USD rates checked on 5 October 2026. Store region, taxes, add-ons and the checkout total can change what you pay.

Where ShutterTrax earns its place
  1. Creator: $29.99 a year

Offline capture, custom countdown audio and digital sharing on Android and iOS.

  2. Pro: $99.99 a year

ShutterTrax annual subscriptions are billed as $29.99 for Creator or $99.99 for Pro. Monthly equivalents are rounded, not monthly payment options. Default storage periods can be shortened by event settings. Offline capture needs an event prepared in advance; cloud delivery needs internet. “Not verified” does not mean a competitor lacks the feature. Prices are not for identical feature bundles. Confirm the required plan, device support and final checkout amount before purchase.

Choose the plan that fits your actual booking

Creator costs $2.99 monthly or $29.99 annually and includes unlimited events and photos, the layout and frame editor, offline capture, QR gallery sharing, email delivery, session GIFs and removal of the ShutterTrax watermark. The default allowance is one booth tablet and 30 days of cloud photo storage. Pro costs $9.99 monthly or $99.99 annually and includes everything in Creator, plus compatible external USB and HDMI cameras, saved brand kits, unlimited booth tablets and 90 days of cloud photo storage.

Both paid tiers run on Android and iOS / iPadOS. They support your own countdown audio as well as built-in photo filters. Saved brand kits are included in Pro. Custom LUT import is coming soon in the current app. Free remains available for trying local capture. Cloud sharing and GIF creation need an internet connection; prepared capture can continue offline. Neither paid plan currently includes printing, SMS delivery, video, boomerang or staff accounts. If the client expects printed photos, video or a particular camera control workflow, make those requirements part of the purchase decision. A cheap plan that cannot deliver the booking is not a saving.

Follow one booking through the decision
  1. Capture

Tablet camera, external camera or video?

  2. Deliver

Local photos, cloud gallery or prints?

  3. License

One booth, several devices or overlapping events?

Turn the subscription into a cost per event

Divide the software charge for a period by the events you realistically expect to run in that period. A $60 monthly subscription across four events costs $15 per event before equipment, travel or labour. Across one event it costs $60. This is an example budget, not a quoted vendor plan.

Use the full annual payment when checking cash flow. An annual plan advertised as a monthly equivalent usually asks for the yearly amount up front. Keep SMS charges, effect credits and extra licenses in a separate line so they do not disappear into the headline.

Test before you switch

Make a short rehearsal with your own tablet, layout and camera. Compare the saved photos, guest interaction and delivery. Keep your current event workflow until the replacement has passed the same test.

For the camera details behind the comparison, read our ShutterTrax and LumaBooth guide. The right choice depends on the job you are selling, not the longest list of ticks.
